Faux Saffron Rice
4 c water
2 Tbsp butter
2 c jasmine rice
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp turmeric
2 tsp chicken stock base or bullion
3/4 tsp Old Bay seasoning
1 tsp salt
Put water in a large saucepan, add chopped butter and bring to a boil over high heat. Add all other ingredients and
return to a boil. Stir once, cover, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 15 minutes. Remove from heat, stir once and then
hold covered until served.
To use brown rice instead of jasmine rice, extend cook time to 45 minutes.
