1-2-3-4 Pound Cake

3 c cake flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ground cardamom
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp allspice
1 c (2 sticks) butter, softened
2 c sugar
4 eggs
3/4 c milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp maple syrup

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Sift first six ingredients together. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat on medium speed for ten minutes. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Add flour mixture and remaining liquids alternately, beating until smooth after each addition. Spread batter into greased 10-inch Bundt pan. Bake until toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean, about 1 hour and 25 minutes. Cool in pan 15 minutes. Remove from pan, cool on rack.
