Homestead Fruit Cobbler

1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup milk
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 cup chopped fruit, drained (use fruit whole if using berries)
1/8 tsp salt

Melt butter in a 7" by 5" casserole dish.

Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt into bowl. Add milk and mix well. Pour batter into casserole dish. Add fruit and mix well. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean after being poked into cobbler.
